ITALY WILL INSTALL 433MW OF PHOTOVOLTAICS IN Q1 2022!

According to industry bodies, Italy installed 433MW of PV systems in the first quarter of this year, 281MW more than in the same period last year. As of the end of March this year, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in the country reached more than 23GW.

According to statistics, Italy installed a total of 433MW of photovoltaic systems in the first quarter of this year. This is a substantial increase from the 152MW installed in the first quarter of last year and 115MW in the first quarter of 2020. March was the fastest-growing month in Italy for PV system capacity, with a total of 241MW installed, by February and January with 103MW and 89MW, respectively.

If this growth trend continues, a new record will be set this year. It depends on how many large-scale PV projects Italy has installed this year, with Italy installing 937MW of PV systems in 2021 and 625MW in 2020.

In terms of scale, 20kW residential PV systems still accounted for the largest share of PV systems installed in Italy in the first quarter of this year, with a total installed capacity of about 190MW; PV systems from 20kW to 100kW were 35MW; commercial and 100kW to 1MW PV systems The industrial photovoltaic system is 85MW; while the photovoltaic system with an installed capacity of more than 1MW is 123MW.

Regionally, the region with the highest PV system development in the first quarter of this year was the Latium region with 93MW of PV systems installed, while the northern region of Lombardy had 66MW and Veneto and Piedmont had 45MW each and 40MW.

The survey shows that by the end of March this year, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in Italy has reached more than 23GW. The country's comprehensive national climate and energy plan aims to install a cumulative 50GW of photovoltaic systems by 2030.
